The City of Charlottesville is committed to providing a solid waste management program to meet the needs of the residents and businesses it serves, as well as to meet the City’s goals for environmental sustainability. The City has engaged a consultant to conduct a comprehensive review of the current solid waste program, and to work with staff and the public to provide solutions and recommendations on how the program can be improved:

• to increase the level of service

• to maximize funding

• to improve efficiency

• to provide exceptional customer service

• to maintain a focus on diverting material from the landfill, thereby working towards delivering a sustainable landfill diversion program
